I always have.

Being born in Michigan meant having a limited window when it came to doing outdoorsy things. I loved baseball, skateboarding, and swimming in the few months of sunshine we got, but the majority of the year was spent indoors. Video games, reading, board games, and mass consumption of media was how I spent my time at home— and that was before high-speed internet was even a thing!

So naturally, my inspirations were shows like Samurai Jack, Teen Titans, Dragon Ball Z, and other action shows. I also got completely lost in the worlds of Pokémon and The Legend of Zelda. Something you get smacked across the face with when it comes to Nintendo, Genndy Tartakovsky, and Akira Toriyama, is that they’re masters of worldbuilding. It wasn’t just the stories I was sucked into, but the vast breathing worlds that the stories took place in.

I knew from a young age that I wanted to do that. I wanted to create kingdoms, continents, histories, religions, all of it. I took it very seriously as a young 5th grader, even when I had just one reader. I never stopped writing. I’ve been practicing this art form for over 20 years and the decision to publish something came when my father suddenly and tragically passed away.

Life is short.

I don’t want to pass from this world without chasing this dream of mine. I hope you’ll join me on this journey and explore the many realms of reality that exist within the planar stratum.
